Lovely article. Thank you!

"On past occasions, Benedict has avoided what he calls “cheap moralism” that takes no account of the technical side of economics and shows no willingness to integrate ethics into the everyday world of business"

According to a Duke Universtity ethics roundtable podcast companies are beginning to turn towards integrating ethics into their way of doing business. This includes hiring ethics majors and making them a part of the human resources department. It only makes sense to do this as 1) part of the consumer decision making process is based on the ethics of the company, and 2) the actions of unethical people in your company can cause the company great harm.

I reviewed the Newsweek article on Caritas and Veritate. It was definitely biased to the relativist left and missed the point of the encyclical. Considering that Newsweek is experiencing a financial disaster that threatens its own survival, one wonders whether Newsweek might want to consider Veritate as a policy before they find themselves needing Caritas in the Bankruptcy court.

I only read the occasional Newsweek article, and always reminded how much our prayers are needed.
