Acton Institute podcast has a new name: Acton Line

Back in 2008, we began producing Radio Free Acton, the official podcast of the Acton Institute. The name, a play on “Radio Free Europe” of the Cold War era, suggested to some that the podcast was a radio program. That name served us well for a decade, but given the rapid pace of change in technology and podcasting, we thought it was time for a refresh more in keeping with today’s audience. Today we’re introducing our podcast’s new name: Acton Line.

Acton Line features the same content, guests and production value you’re accustomed to. Your favorite guests and hosts are still a part of Acton Line, as well as a variety of new guests who will be joining us. Now featuring more segments and an expanded availability on podcast directories, Acton Line is easier than ever to listen to. Subscribers of Radio Free Acton will not have to re-subscribe – it’s virtually the same podcast but with a new name.

Over our 11- year history of podcasting, we have grown from releasing occasional conversation with guests lecturers to a weekly schedule of episodes released each Wednesday. Over 80 episodes and 100 guests later, listenership grew 60 percent – so if you’re not listening yet, what are you waiting for?

While most people listen to podcasts on their smartphone, you can also access Acton Line on your desktop or laptop. The easiest way to do this is to simply subscribe to Acton Line on iTunes after downloading the application onto your computer. If you use an Apple computer, iTunes comes pre-installed. Or, if you’re a Spotify fan, you can follow Acton Line after downloading Spotify onto your computer. We’re also on a variety of other sites and applications so be sure to check your favorite podcast directory. Additionally, you can listen to Acton on YouTube. After Subscribing to the Acton Institute’s YouTube channel, you’ll be notified when Acton Line publishes a new episode each Wednesday.

If you prefer listening to Acton Line on your mobile device, there are a host of apps you can use. Android users just need to download a podcast app, search for Acton Line, and subscribe. The best podcast apps available for download on Androids are Google Podcasts, Stitcher, TuneIn, Podcast Addict, and Spotify. If you’re an iPhone user, you already have everything you need! Every iPhone comes with a pre-installed podcast app called Apple Podcasts. Simply open up the app, search for Acton Line, and hit subscribe.

As Acton Line continues to grow, our listeners are our number one priority. Let us know what you like and what you would like to hear more of by emailing us at [email protected] or by leaving us a message at 888-705-4180.
