On iHeart Radio’s Janine Turner Show, Conna Craig of the Hoover Institution’s Institute for Children, discusses the state of foster care in the U.S. and its link with human trafficking. Craig is concerned with the fact that so many children are “missing” from the foster care system and no one has reported them missing. Many, she believes, are lured into sexual trafficking situations.

So the only concerns for these children is only money driven to get the Title A-f monies back to the states?

The appearance that after 18 they aren’t a viable money stream and they have no more concerns what they do?

I couldn’t find any static’s from the CDC on after eighteen what happens to Foster or Title alotment children
It scares me to know that you are right.

My concerns of how many have been abused by state actors ? How does that role model for raiseing responsible adults for society?

Frank, when foster children “age out” of the system, many of them are kicked out of foster care. The people who gave them a home no longer receive money from the state for their care, and they simply kick them out. These young people have little or no support system, and many have nowhere to go. Now, places like Western Michigan University have developed special programs for these young people. It affords them financial support, counseling, a hope for education and a support system. However, we need to look to our communities to help these young people as well.

No-the foster care system can collect up until the age of 26 now- and not all children who should be reported missing are- want proof? You think it’s not true- here is a response when I requested to know If I
was reported missing. I was missing-I ran away from foster care 2 weeks
after my 16th Birthday- the state was obligated to care for me instead
they failed me- here’s the proof foster children that go missing often

        Dear Ms. Riboloff,

This is in response to your inquiry regarding your suspicions that you
may be a missing child from California. The California Department of
Justice Missing and Unidentified Persons Unit was unable to locate any
missing person under the name Lori E Riboloff in the Missing Persons
        System. http://blog.acton.org/archives/65070-americas-missing-children-link-foster-care-trafficking.html

I am so sorry to hear of your experience. It backs up what is said. As for collecting up to the age of 26, it depends on the state, and whether or not the person in question is in school, has disabilities, etc. Thank you for your response, and best wishes.
