Taking a Left Turn at Chavez Boulevard
First Maxine Waters suggested that she might just want to nationalize the US oil industry; now Maurice Hinchey of New York is jumping on that bandwagon. And why wouldn’t they? It’s all the rage these days. Just look at Venezuela, which is rapidly emerging as a South American hellhole paradise after Hugo Chavez started nationalizing everything. Why should we be left behind?

A nationalized oil industry would mean that each President would in effect get to hand pick his/her own “Oil Czar”.
If a president belonged to a party that wanted Americans to use less oil (like, say, the Democratic party), they could pick a czar that would reduce the amount of oil being put onto the market (like, say, Al Gore).
I can see it now, his title could be “United States Energy Liaison Ensuring Shorter Supply”. I’m sure that could be abbreviated or something, because that is a mouthful.
Supply goes down, price goes up.
Yeah, that’ll help.
Although, now that I think about it, Al Gore wouldn’t have the time to be Oil Czar. He’ll be too busy flying all over the world in his private jet, heading up the “U.S. Department of Climate Change, Fairy Tales, and other Hoaxes” to concern himself with the oil needs of the common folk.
